Not everyone has access to the kinds of tools necessary to unleash their full creative potential or to explore academic pursuits. As part of The Studios, and the broader experiential learning services of NC State Libraries, the Digital Media Lab serves as the hub for exploration of video, audio, and graphic design tools, to allow users with all levels of experience to access and develop their digital media ambitions.
Even in the simplest terms, art humanizes. It opens the circuit of empathy. And once that process happens, it’s that much harder to think of people as part of a policy or a statistic. Art reverses the alienation that can creep into society.
