A challenge is presented to you, the outcome of which, while seemingly innocuous, is deeply consequential.
Reflection
Creating the Twine story was challenging. It was my first encounter with the site and I was worried that telling this tale online might add layers to the associated curses. Somewhere in the darkest depths of the mysteries we’ve yet to comprehend, there’s a force that laughs at our attempts to come to terms with these indefinable, occult encounters.
In a practical sense, once I got a handle of the mechanics, I found it most difficult to restrain myself in my storytelling. Details, twists, and turns continued to pour forth from my fingers, and new options for resolution played at the edges of my narrative stream of thought. Edits and revisions proved to be time consuming, with capitalization rules being something that worked against my efforts. This, too was easily overcome by Twine’s auto-fill.
Storytelling of this kind would work well in a number of scenarios. It could be instructive, with students choosing from different options or choosing priorities, etc.
